Asha Bhosle, one of the most versatile playback singers in India, gained fame with her hit songs like Nanhe Munhe Bacche for the movie Boot Polish (1954). She worked with notable actors like Mohammed Rafi, OP Nayyar, and RD Burman during the 50s and 70s, delivering memorable hits like O Haseena Zulfonwali, O Mere Sona Re, Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, and Yeh Mera Dil.
In the 80s, she transitioned from popular music to ghazals, winning National Awards for her ghazals Dil Cheez Kya Hai and Mera Kuch Samaan. By the 90s, Asha became selective in her work but continued to deliver chartbusters like Rangeela Re, Radha Kaise Na Jale, and Kambakkht Ishq. She made her singing debut with the Marathi film Majha Bal (1943).
