The one-of-a-kind concert, organised by Grammy Award winning composer and environmentalist Ricky Kej, has the support of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and UNICEF.

The world ensemble includes 44 artistes from six countries, including Grammy Award winners Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Laura Dickinson, Wouter Kellerman, Baaba Maal, among others.

The initiative aims to bring everyone together as one global community, and help spread the message of kindness, sacrifice and hope, a press release said.

Ricky Kej is an American composer, music producer and environmentalist. In 2015, he won a Grammy at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards for his album. Winds of Samsara.

Bhatt is renowned for his Grammy award winning album, A Meeting by the River with Ry Cooder, released on Water Lily Acoustics label. American actress, singer and Grammy winner, Laura Dickinson is best known for her extensive work on Disney's animated hits, Phineas and Ferb and Sofia the First. Wouter Kellerman is a Grammy award-winning South African flautist, producer and composer who has won seven South African Music Awards, while Baaba Maal is a Senegalese singer. There are many other noted artistes who will be a part of the digital concert.

The sixty-minute performance by Kej and the world ensemble features eight songs, and launch of 'Shine Your Light' music video, followed by other performances.

Earth Day is celebrated around the world to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was celebrated in 1970 for the first time, and it now includes events that are coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries. This year, due to the global lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic, a digital concert has been organised.

Supported by Earth Day Network, UNCCD, UN Climate Change, UNESCO MGEIP, One Page Spotlight and the artistes, the concert will ask people to 'Shine Your Light' for a safe, resilient and sustainable world.

April 22, 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
