Jharkhand to start 50 new food processing plants during Global Agriculture and Food Summit

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, while addressing a road show for the Global Agriculture and Food Summit to be held in November, said the state is full of developmental possibilities as it has 40 percent of the country’s mineral resources.

He invited all the investors to participate in the agriculture summit.

The Jharkhand CM said that due to political instability, the state has suffered a lot and couldn’t reach the height it should have. Jharkhand’s single window policy was made in 2016, and the state successfully organised the Global Summit in 2017.

Highlighting the achievements of his government, the Jharkhand CM said, “A total of 89 food processing plants have been started in the state and it provides employment to over 3,000 people. The government will start 50 new food processing plants on the first day of the Global Agriculture and Food Summit on November 29.”

He said about 354 industrial units have been set up in the state and Rs 49,000 crore has been invested, resulting in 62,000 employment opportunities to the people of the state. “The state government is doing its best to double the farmers’ income by 2022. The villages in the state have been developed and provided with infrastructure facilities to increase the farmers income,” he added.
