BFW, Universal Robots join hands to bring robotic arms to MSMEs

BFW, Universal Robots join hands to bring robotic arms to MSMEs

Friday January 25, 2019 , 2 min Read

Bengaluru-based machining solution provider Bharat Fritz Werner Ltd (BFW) and Universal Robots, a Danish robot maker and a leader in collaborative robots, have partnered to co-create robots for the MSME sector, said a release.

BFW and Universal Robots are planning to redefine production processes for MSMEs by deploying robotic arms through ‘Arjun’ - a modular, flexible and user-friendly integration solution. The two companies maintain that advanced and light-industrial robotic arms will dramatically improve productivity, quality and working conditions in the MSME segment as they will automate and streamline repetitive industrial processes.

“This partnership between the Danish robot maker and BFW will leverage the productivity in the MSME segment by integration of collaborative robots in manufacturing processes,” said Ravi Raghavan, CEO, Bharat Fritz Werner. “This aims to disrupt the traditional production set-up of the MSME segment with top-notch automation solutions, and will dramatically impact productivity,” he added.

Pradeep David, General Manager, Universal Robots, South Asia, said: “By working closely with BFW and its CNC machines and automation services strength, we plan to support its network of over 40 offices. It will surely help evangelise Cobots, among the ‘Job Shops’ in India.”

“Deployment of collaborative robot tech will help Indian companies realise creative potential of their teams by engaging them in higher value-creation activities. The BFW and Universal Robots alliance will act as a major catalyst for these initiatives,” said Praful Shende, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, BFW.

BFW is an Indian machine tool manufacturer, which designs and manufactures precision machine tools for industries across verticals.

Universal Robots specialises in making advanced robot arms that can be used by production staff to boost productivity, reduce injury, and boost morale. With these robot arms, companies can automate and streamline repetitive or potentially unsafe processes.
