Bangalore based ShieldSquare gets selected for Startup Tel Aviv

Bangalore based ShieldSquare gets selected for Startup Tel Aviv

Wednesday September 10, 2014 , 3 min Read

Bangalore-based ShieldSquare, a startup which prevents bots from scraping data from your website, got selected for the well-known event - Startup Tel Aviv. Earlier, there was a smaller event in Delhi to find a startup from India to be presented at Startup Tel Aviv where ShieldSquare aced their demo and got their tickets to Israel. The Delhi event is an initiative by the Israel Consulate to foster business relations between Israel and India.

Startup Tel Aviv is a global competition held by The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tel Aviv Global that brings together startups from eighteen different countries to compete for the opportunity to take part in an intense, five-day startup experience in Tel Aviv's growing startup ecosystem.

His Excellency Mr. Menahem Kanafi, Consul General of Israel in Bangalore and Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Ziv Shalvi announced the Indian winner and handed Pavan his Israeli visa at the event.

While announcing the winners of the India event, His Excellency Mr. Menahem Kanafi shared:

In the finals of the Startup Tel Aviv competition in Delhi, two companies were from Bangalore. There are so many startups in Bangalore; hopefully we will have a Bangalore Start-up Event next year.

Speaking further about the recent technological developments in Israel, Mr. Kanafi said:

There are over 5000 startups in Israel and the population is eight million only. Although, the government helps in financing of new startups, so angel investors think when the government has invested then they can too.

ShieldSquare's revolutionary technology identifies scrapers in real time and empowers the site owner to block them.

The startup is a brainchild of a team that comes with prior hands-on experience in building enterprise class products in the areas of Fraud Detection, Authentication, Payments and much more.

Israel is one of the most innovative nations in the areas of cyber security. Being operating in the cyber-security related sector, Pavan seems to be very happy about selection to the event:

We are excited to take part in Startup Tel Aviv. I can undoubtedly say that this event is the one of the most coveted events across the globe in tech startups. Israel is a leader in building innovative products and by participating in this event; we look forward to getting exposure to their eco-system. The program will give us an opportunity to network with the brightest minds across the world.

The team had earlier built a patent-pending pattern-based Two Factor Authentication product in their last venture, ArrayShield that won quite a few accolades.

We hope the best happens for ShieldSquare at Tel Aviv, and it wins many accolades.
