Lybrate

Lybrate is a healthcare platform that connects patients and doctors making healthcare more accessible, opening up more possibilities for patients and more time for doctors. The company was founded in 2013 Saurabh Arora and Rahul Narang and went on raise $1.23 million in funding from Nexus Venture Partners which they have disclosed now. Lybrate is also backed by Vispi Daver, prominent venture capitalist from Silicon Valley and Gokul Rajaram, a technologist who has played key roles at Google and Facebook and is an active startup investor. The startup has also launched a smartphone healthcare app for doctors and patients to complement its Lybrate.com online platform that connects patients and doctors. The app is available for Android handsets and provides patients with a one-click emergency support system and a search tool for nearby ambulance services.Lybrate helps people find trusted doctors near their location and book an appointment with them either through the smartphone app or its online portal. Its free service allows patients to digitally store and manage their medical records on their smartphone and share with their doctors easily. Critical information like past prescriptions, lab reports, blood group, allergies, etc can be easily accessed by medical practitioners.

For doctors, Lybrate.com is a self-serve online and mobile platform to manage appointments, medical records and billings for their clinic. Doctors on Lybrate can instantaneously access their patient’s information anytime, anywhere. It also allows them to share medical records with colleagues for a second opinion. Lybrate helps medical practitioners save time and make better decisions for their patients.

“In emergency situations, a delay of a few minutes to get right help can make a huge difference between life and death”, said Saurabh Arora, Lybrate founder and CEO. “With the poor infrastructure in India to take care of emergencies, we depend a lot on our social network. The Lybrate smartphone app is designed to ensure that we can both reach out for help and are also able to save the lives of our loved ones when they need us the most”. “We see a huge opportunity in improving access to healthcare using technology. Lybrate’s innovative platform and easy to use interface truly brings health at your fingertips”, says Sandeep Singhal, co-founder & MD, Nexus Venture Partners who has joined the company board.

Healthcare is seeing a lot of activity (read how Practo helps 1L+ doctors book 30k+ monthly appointments) and there are many products that have come up that help doctors manage their time more efficiently and allows them to do more. Lybrate is one more such effort and is banking on mobile to penetrate deeper and stronger. It already exists in more than 30 cities.
