Kanthari leadership program May 2013 is now open

Tuesday November 06, 2012 , 2 min Read

kanthari invites change makers to apply for the 7 months kanthari International program starting May 2013. kanthari is the new name for the formerly known International Institute for Social Entrepreneurs (IISE). In the last three years kanthari has trained over 64 social innovators who have started more than 40 highly impactful initiatives.

kanthari International is more than a leadership program, it is a springboard for pro-active thinkers and driven do-ers. We are looking for individuals who are intrinsically interested to make a positive difference within their community/society. We believe that those who have overcome life challenges, be it disability, poverty, war, discrimination or exploitation – in short, who come from the margins of society and have strong life stories to tell, are the ones who should apply. kanthari fosters participants from all over the world, who have a sense of ownership, motivation and passion to make the world a better place and strength to be forces of good rather than victims of circumstance.

Set in a serene location on the shores of Vellayani lake in Trivandrum, the campus is ideal to learn and absorb life transforming knowledge while being close to nature. The program will catalyse participants to develop necessary skills and to succeed as ethical social change makers. The Curriculum is designed in a way that participants:

• learn methods, techniques and theories that are relevant to their own social dreams.

• prepare themselves to start their initiative through various case studies, practical projects and internships

Participants need to be 22 years of age or older. Nationality, religious or cultural background, socio-economic conditions or even educational background is of no consequence. What is important is; high energy, ethics, a vision, creativity, fire in the belly and the guts to challenge the Status Quo. The medium of learning is English, so a working knowledge of the language is essential. Basic computer skills are also required.

If an applicant is selected, accommodation and training fee will be provided by kanthari.

To ensure high quality training, kanthari accommodates a maximum of 25 participants per academic year who are chosen through a stringent selection process. To apply for the kanthari International program please visit;
